I was getting tired of feeling shame for many people and their blames. Thinking about it one of this days, and our ability like human beings to change, and, the most important, don't hate life but continue fighting-which is a duty-, I told my mom that maybe, the shame or pity is not compassion, it is a way to support their bad state.
My mom -the wisest woman I know-said me: ¡¿pobrecito?! pobrecito el diablo, que no alcanzó bendición (in english: little poor?! poor the devil! because he missed the benediction). These words just got my mind unstuck. And now, I'm not feeling more shame for no one. We are able to support many things, look around, how many people suffering, and we'll still have strenght and love. "Wheter or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should" (Desiderata poem) The important thing is keep fighting and recovering the hope.
I don't mean we shouldn't care about others, I think we have to, but not saying "yes, you're a poor thing, you can do nothing, I feel sad about you", we must help people to be self-confident and to find a solution if we can.
*Thanks very much for my friend Corwin and his corrections =)
